If Game of Thrones Were An Egyptian TV Show…

WHO WOULD PLAY WHO

Game of Thrones is pretty much popular anywhere where screens can be found. We love the characters, the ever thickening plot lines, the twists and turns, and, of course, the random acts of violence and cruelty. But what if Game of Thrones were an Egyptian TV Show?

Sure, some things are predictable; the intro sequence would be (much) longer and more repetitive, there would be a (very) long (and unnecessary) recap at the start of each episode, the new material wouldn’t amount to any more than 30 minutes per episode. The language would be toned down, and the dragons would probably look a little bit more like this:

But who would play our favorite characters? How would the casting go? You have to wonder!

Well, wonder no more, true believe, for we have done the wondering for you!

ٌٌRobert Baratheon Would Be Played By Yehia El Fakharany

Because, who else? If you need to cast an older king, a man whose desires are both questionable and unquenchable, you’ll go for Yehia El Fakharany. At times grand and at others comedic, Yehia El Fakharany would absolutely have been cast as the insatiable Baratheon.

Game of Thrones

Jon Snow Would Be Played By Ahmed Helmy

game of thrones

In a breakout role that defies his stereotyping as a comedic actor, we’d get Ahmed Helmy. He’s young, and, so long as he keeps some beard, he looks the part. Ahmed Helmy would make a great Jon Snow, even though we think he’d probably make us laugh when he gasped back to life.

Cersei Lannister Would Undoubtedly Be Played By Yosra

game of thrones

How is this even a question? She’s long been the ‘dame’ of Egyptian TV, and casting anybody other than Yosra in this role would just be wrong. Admit it. You can see her as Cersei. She’s got the hair, and we all want to see Yosra playing a sinister, manipulative, murderous power-hungry dictator. Well, this would be her big chance to portray a villain and our big chance to see her as one of the best on TV!

Ned Stark Would Be Played By Amr Youssef

game of thrones

We’re used to seeing Amr Youssef as the lead character in most shows, so this would be perfect. Everybody would be watching the show, and wham, bang – we all know what happens in Episode 9. We won’t mention it here, in case you’ve been hiding under a very well hidden rock in some obscure desert somewhere where they have no internet, no TV, and no runes. We don’t do spoilers! But for everybody else, you know why this would be perfect, don’t you 😉 ?

Sansa Stark Would Be Played By Amina Khalil

game of thrones

Yes, we’re that good. Amina Khalil would be perfect for the role of Sansa Stark. Sansa starts off as a sweet girl on the show, but as the plot develops, and as she experiences the horrors of Westeros, she becomes more jaded, more cynical, and she starts to want some of that power for herself. We can easily see Amina playing well and convincingly to that range of character.

But what about Daenerys Targaryen, you’re wondering? Well, so did we – but here we go!

Daenerys Targaryen Would Be Played By Yosra El Lozy

game of thrones

Perfect for the role of the young girl, daughter of the mad king and eventual Mother of Dragons, Yosra El Lozy is just some blond hair away from leading the army of The Unsullied.

Well, we’ll stop here, but what other characters can you think of casting choices for if Game of Thrones were an Egyptian TV show? Let us know in the comments!
