Scrumptious Sweet Loaf Recipes

Mmmm Banana Bread

Nov.7.2019 By: Jessica Shanks 2 MIN read

Ever have bananas laying around that you totally intended to eat, but never got to? They’re just chilling out in the kitchen, all spotted and brown, and looking less than appetizing. Well, don’t throw them away! Use them to make banana bread instead. Banana bread, and other sweet type bread recipes, are delicious and easy to make. There’s no yeast in these breads, which means less waiting, and less skill needed to achieve perfection. Sweet loaf breads make a great treat that pairs beautifully with coffee at breakfast. They also make terrific snacks. Here’s a few scrummy sweet loaf recipes you’ll definitely want to try at home.

Super Moist Banana Bread

Banana bread is super tasty, but nothing can spoil a good loaf more than having it turn out dry. This recipe from Forks ‘N Flip-Flops produces a seriously moist banana bread. There are a few tips here to mention that the page doesn’t include. First of all, add some cinnamon (about 1 to 1 ½ tsp) and a pinch of nutmeg to your bread. The spices really help add some mild, but effective, flavor to the banana. If your bread is taking awhile longer to cook and seems to be turning too dark for your taste, cover the bread with a loose tent of aluminum foil. Doing so will prevent the sides and top from scorching, and lessen browning.

Cranberry Orange Bread

There’s just something about the flavor combination of cranberry and orange. The tart pop of cranberry compliments the sweet citrus of orange absolutely beautifully. The combo really sings in this sweet loaf recipe from Jam Hands. This bread is exceptionally tasty and makes for a perfect breakfast option. If you do opt to add nuts, make sure not to chop them too fine. Doing so releases more oils, which can cause your dough to be a little too moist. Also, if you have the time to do so, fresh-squeeze your orange juice for the recipe. It may seem like a small thing, but it makes a world of difference flavor wise.

Pineapple Coconut Bread

For a sweet loaf that will make you think of sitting on a tropical beach somewhere, check out Simple Sweet Recipes. This bread turns out super moist. It’s also sweet, without making you feel like you’re going to get a cavity after eating it. The important thing to remember about this loaf is to drain your pineapple really well. If using a fine mesh strainer to help, take a fork and press down on the pineapple. You’d be amazed just how much juice comes out of canned pineapple. Too much juice will make your batter all wonky, and it won’t cook right.
