A 4 Day Itinerary

May.21.2019 By: Jessica Shanks 3 MIN read

Looking for a quick travel destination that may be short on travel time, but far from short on fun? Look no further than the beautiful island country of Cyprus! Take off from Dubai and in around 3 and a half hours, you will find yourself in this gorgeous piece of paradise in the Mediterranean. Cyprus is said to have been the birth place of Aphrodite, so surely you’ll want to vacation like a goddess as soon as possible. There’s a lot to see and do here between the beautiful beaches, impressive natural sites, scrumptious food, and considerable historical locations. Here’s our suggestions for a perfect 4 day getaway to enchanting Cyprus.

Day 1

Stroll Through Larnaca

Larnaca is considered by many to be the oldest city in Cyprus. It dates back 6,000 years and is a fabulous blend of both the old and the new. It’s a vibrant city with a lot on offer, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that it is a seaside local. Stroll the city streets and get an appreciation for the wonderful mix of architecture and the local culture. Explore the Turkish Quarter. Visit the Medieval Castle of Larnaca, the Byzantine Church of Saint Lazarus, or the Buyuk Cami Mosque. You’ll find plenty to do without feeling like there’s too much to jam into a day.

Day 2

Explore the Troodos Mountains

After spending a day out and about in the city, why not get back to nature by exploring this region in Cyprus. The area is speckled with charming old villages complete with cobblestone. You’ll also find waterfalls, plenty of hiking trails, monasteries, and beautiful pine forests. There’s even a chocolate workshop in the area called the Platres Chocolate Workshop. After all that hiking, you deserve a treat. Points of interest you will want to see are the Omodos Village, Caledonia Waterfall, the Artemis Loop Hike, and the Kykkos Monastery. If you visit in winter, there is also skiing available.

Day 3

Hit Up Nissi Beach

Nissi Beach is renowned for its beauty, and is considered to be one of the best beaches in all of Europe. The waters are absolutely pristine, warm, and shallow. In the winter, during low tide, there is often a sand path that leads from the beach to the island in the middle that you are able to traverse. If you’re into clubbing, the destination has also become popular for just that, especially during the summer months. If you’re down for tunes or not, the natural beauty of the place is not to be missed.

Day 4

Wander Around Paphos

After your day at the beach, and perhaps dancing the night away, Paphos offers a nice laid back atmosphere. There are several archaeological sites featuring ancient ruins to explore. The heart of the city has also been revitalized in recent years, with many quaint coffee shops and cute boutique stores opening. Nature lovers will adore the local sea caves as well as the untarnished and rugged splendor of Lara Beach. Avakas Gorge is also not be missed. For a bit of history, pencil in a visit to the Tombs of the Kings. Of course, no visit to Cyprus would be complete without visiting Petra tou Rominous, also known as Aphrodite’s Rock, which is said to be her birthplace.
