How to Take the Perfect Travel Insta
In almost all of my travel articles, I usually make a joke about how a particular place gives you a chance for “the perfect insta”. I mean, who doesn’t at least think of the insta potential of wherever they are travelling to. But, before you go read some more about the destinations where you can get amazing insta posts, I thought I should share some tips on what makes a great picture.
Unique Views
Probably the easiest type of insta to take, because your destination does all the work for you, is to take a picture of a unique view or angle. The trick here is to not overcomplicate: simply point and shoot at a beautiful backdrop. Make sure to pick out a nice filter, but nothing too heavy that obscures the view!
YOUnique Views
Almost as easy as the first, if you find a unique backdrop or landscape on holiday, simply stand in front of it, point, and snap! The trick with these is to pick truly unique backdrops; think cool graffiti, narrow backstreets, quaint balconies, or strange statues! Your picture in front of the Eiffel Tower may be cute, but it’s not unique!
Smart Filtering
We all have our favourite filters and some of them are great for travelling. For example, Hudson’s colder vibe works great in European cities, especially in winder. If you are taking a picture with lots of trees or a mainly green backdrop, then Lark is great for giving your picture a more dramatic feel. However, if you want to keep your post looking truly unique, make sure to make use of insta’s custom filtering or even other apps like VSCO to make your picture really pop. Oh…and don’t overdo the grain.
Don’t Overthink
If you spend your trip thinking of how to take the perfect insta then I hate to tell you but, it’s not going to happen! Some of the best posts you’ll see are those which come from natural moments. If you just enjoy your holiday, the insta’s will find themselves.
